Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is transmitted to the outside provider that operates that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server may record routine technical details about that visit:
- Date and time of each page request
- Device type and operating system
- Referring site, when one is supplied
- Assigned internet protocol address
- Pages viewed and approximate visit length
- Browser name and version
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files saved on a device. They help measure traffic, popular pages, and where visits end. Analytics providers combine that activity into reports. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features behave.

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Childress County Criminal History does not compile, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general routing information for the sheriff, local courts, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a third-party dossier or consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their own privacy notices govern the information submitted to them, including retention and sharing. Review the selected provider's terms before running a query because this policy does not control that company's systems.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to a sheriff, court, Texas agency, or outside search service. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy rules apply. Read those rules before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. We do not operate that tracking infrastructure.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be available only to limited recipients such as:
- Analytics providers measuring performance and traffic
- Search partners receiving a query you submit
- A government body when disclosure is compelled by valid legal process
- Advertising networks serving ads on the pages

Reasonable security measures protect collected information. No online system can guarantee absolute security, however, so a breach-free service cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. A verified request concerning a minor's information will be addressed promptly.
Your Data Rights
Texas Government Code Chapter 552 governs access to information held by Texas public bodies, while Government Code Chapter 411 limits dissemination of state criminal-history information. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government records custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Ask what personal information is held about you
- Object to certain forms of processing
- Seek deletion where the law permits it
